Frequently asked questions
I cannot find the button to start the connection.
Open /studio/. The first card is the “Connect with TikTok” step. Clicking it launches the official TikTok Login Kit flow.
Authorization did not complete.
Make sure you finish the consent screen on TikTok and that you approved the requested capabilities. If the page does not return to the studio, retry from the connect button. Sessions are short-lived and will not authorize automatically.
The studio says my account is missing a permission.
The studio only offers actions for the scopes you actually granted. If a scope was denied, you can re-authorize with that scope included. The studio never retries without your explicit consent.
My privacy options look different than expected.
The privacy levels shown in the studio are pulled live from TikTok for your account. Some accounts (for example, under 16 or with regional restrictions) only see a subset of options. PUBLIC_TO_EVERYONE is only shown if your account allows it.
I cannot move past the privacy step.
You have to choose a privacy level manually. No privacy level is preselected. Pick one of the options shown and then continue.
Comments / Duet / Stitch look locked.
If TikTok blocks any of those at the account level, the studio disables the control and labels it as blocked by TikTok. The lock cannot be toggled from the studio.
Send to TikTok (Upload to Inbox) instead of publish.
Pick the “Upload to Inbox” mode in the studio. The video is delivered to your TikTok inbox so you can finish editing and publish from the TikTok app itself.
Direct Post is not available.
Direct Post requires the video.publish scope. If you did not grant it during the last authorization, disconnect and reconnect, this time granting video.publish. The studio does not switch modes on its own.
The submit button is grey.
The studio blocks submission until privacy, music consent and any active disclosure fields are completed. Each blocker is shown next to its field.
The submission is stuck in “processing”.
Submissions stay in PROCESSING_UPLOAD / PROCESSING_DOWNLOAD while TikTok works on them. The studio keeps polling and shows the latest status. If processing exceeds the studio’s polling window, the studio reports it transparently.
Can I revoke the integration?
Yes. From the studio, use the disconnect action to end the current session, and/or revoke the integration directly from your TikTok settings. Both stop any further action immediately.

Common error codes
- not_authorized — no active session or access token. Reconnect through the studio.
- scope_missing — the action needs a scope that was not granted. Disconnect, reconnect, and grant the scope.
- file_not_found — the selected file is no longer in the studio’s canonical library.
- music_confirmation_required — Direct Post requires Music Usage Confirmation.
- init_network / init_bad_response — the studio could not reach TikTok’s API. Try again in a few seconds.
- poll timeout — the studio polled longer than its allowed window without seeing a terminal status. Check the status again from the studio.
